Power BI earns its complexity once operational data, SKU, channel, or project-level, needs to sit next to the financials. Mistakes That Sink First Dashboards

  • Too many metrics. Forty KPIs is zero KPIs. If a number does not change a decision within a quarter, it goes to the appendix.
  • No live data link. A dashboard fed by hand dies within three months, every time. Automate the actuals or do not bother.
  • Design over meaning. Gauges and 3D charts impress nobody twice. Trend lines against forecast answer the only questions that matter: better or worse, and versus what.
